In quick silver, Ko Murobushi pushes his body to the limit to enter into a universe of pain and darkness. Ko's extraordinary muscular body, painted entirely silver, mutates and shape-shifts, conjuring images of a man moving at the very edge of life and death. quick silver strips away any notions of movement as decoration and plunges both performer and spectator into a timeless world of catharsis.

Ko Murobushi

Ko Murobushi is one of the best known Butoh artists in the world and is recognized as a leading inheritor of Hijikata's original vision of Butoh. He moved to Europe and founded two butoh companies, the female company "Ariadone" with Carlotta Ikeda in 1974 and the male company "Sebi" in 1978. In 2000, he moved back to Japan and awakened Japanese audiences with his solo Edge. Following this, he founded his company "Ko & Edge". His works both solo and as a company continue to be acclaimed worldwide.
