Museum Dances a Success!

After two successful weekends of dance performances at the Royal Ontario Museum, the 2010 CanAsian International Dance Festival has come to a close. We were thrilled by the excellent turnout during the two weekends over 2000 people! ;Audience members of all ages came to each of the unique sites to experience the specially commissioned site-specific dances and the live music by our talented artists.

We would like to once again extend a huge thank you to all of the artists involved - Soojung Kwon and the JM Dance Collective, the Opaque Ensemble, Jeng Yi, Moving Dragon Dance Company, Michael Vincent and the TorQ Percussion Ensemble, Natasha Bakht and the dancers of the Sampradaya Dance Company, Alexander MacSween and F.A.M. for their dedication to this project.

A huge thank you to Fransico Alvarez and Laura Comerford of the Institute for Contemporary Culture for believing in this project and for helping us to realize it, and to the Royal Ontario Museum for the privilege of dancing in such an inspirational site.

And as always, thank you to our audience and supporters for coming to see our festival this year. We hope you enjoyed it! Next year our festival will return to the Fleck Dance Theatre at Harbourfront in February 2011 and we hope to see you again. It will feature outstanding dance artists from Tokyo, Turkey, Cambodia and from across Canada. Click here for more information on the 2011 Festival.
